FAQ
Fair questions.
Straight answers.
01Is development really free?
+
There is no upfront development fee, hourly rate, or build invoice. If we decide to work together, Mission Ventures receives equity instead. Equity has value, so this is a partnership—not free labor.
02How much equity do you take?
+
There isn’t a fixed percentage. Every project is different, and we’ll agree on clear terms before development begins. Neither side is committed until those terms are signed.
03Do I need a company already?
+
No. You can pitch an idea before forming a company. If we move forward, we’ll help clarify what needs to exist before development starts.
04Do I need a pitch deck?
+
Absolutely not. Seven plain-English answers tell us more than a polished 40-slide deck usually does.
05Do I have to quit my job?
+
Not automatically. What matters is that you have the time, knowledge, and commitment to turn the product into a business. We’ll talk honestly about expectations before partnering.
06Will you sign an NDA before I submit?
+
Generally, no. We receive many ideas and may already be working on or evaluating something similar. Your submission isn’t public, but submitting it does not create a confidentiality obligation.
07Who owns my idea if you don’t select it?
+
You retain whatever rights you already have. A submission does not transfer ownership to Mission Ventures. Formal terms shown before submission govern the details.
08What won’t you build?
+
We don’t build illegal businesses, gambling products, crypto or web3 speculation, adult-industry products, malicious or security-abuse software, or other products we determine are inappropriate. We generally don’t build hardware.
09Can I submit more than one idea?
+
Yes, but we limit accounts to three active ideas and one new pitch every 24 hours. One thoughtful submission is more compelling than a hundred generated ones.
10What costs am I responsible for?
+
You cover the direct costs your business incurs, such as domains, hosting, APIs, app-store accounts, payment processing, legal work, insurance, and other third-party services. We agree on responsibilities before development begins.
11What if you’ve already seen something similar?
+
That can happen. Many people independently see the same problems and arrive at similar ideas. A submission does not prevent us from considering or building similar products with others.
12Does AI read my submission?
+
AI systems may assist our internal analysis, research, or summarization. Mission’s owners make every partnership decision. We don’t publish your submission, and we keep the AI processing scope intentionally limited.
